Announcing our launch event!
Exciting news! We'll be holding our launch event at The Grand in Clitheroe on Friday 18 May and it promises to be an electric night!
We have an array of special guest musicians performing at the Grand to raise funds and help us officially launch The 180 Project. The Soul Convicts will be joining us featuring the mind blowing vocals of Sam Seth. Local DJ Sean Parkinson will be spinning the decks with soul and funk grooves. Further acts to be announced!
Who are we?
The 180 Project is a recovery programme in Lancashire and is one of the first of its kind. We turn recovering addicts and alcoholics into “athletes”, with an aim to break the cycle of substance abuse, crime, and prison to help rebuild lives.
We use an adapted CrossFit programme - high intensity exercise. It's structured, rewarding and positively addictive. We match the athletes to a mentor (individuals who have already completed the programme). Our mentors provide encouragement through the intense workouts. Our athletes learn how to eat healthily and connect to community-based recovery groups. The 180 Project helps people to find jobs too!
Volunteers run The 180 Project. We need help to raise funds to continue our work and develop as a sustainable social enterprise, so we help people stay off drugs, off alcohol and out of jail, for good.
